Who Should Attend

This training is for Forensic Interviewers who are regularly conducting forensic interviews.

All applicants must have completed an NCA approved 5-day basic Forensic Interview course or its equivalent.

National Criminal Justice Training Center Staff

Amy Allen has been a forensic interviewer at both a Michigan child advocacy center and for the federal government for nearly 30 years. As an accomplished forensic interviewer in both national and international protocols, she has conducted over 8,000 forensic interviews and testified in court on over 300 occasions as an expert witness.

Andi Grosvald Hamilton is a Special Agent with the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation (OSBI) and a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. She is currently assigned to the Oklahoma First Responders Wellness Division as a Certified Peer Support Leader. Prior to her current role at OSBI, Hamilton served 3 years in Major Crimes and 12 years in the Internet Crimes Against Children Unit, specializing in child and suspect interviews and child maltreatment investigations.

Learning Objectives

This is an advanced training on presenting evidence in child forensic interviews.

During this training participants will:

  • Explore different types of evidence used in forensic interviews of children in abuse, witnessing violence, and exploitation cases.
  • Learn how to present different types of evidence in the context of a child-centered, trauma-informed, and legally defendable forensic interview approach.
  • Discuss the implications of presenting sexually explicit material. Practice techniques and develop skills to present different types of evidence in child forensic interviews.

Priority for receiving a lodging scholarship will be given to Forensic Interviewers and members of the Children’s Alliance of Montana.
